Elementary school kids in Belgium take fun cooking lessons in many schools. It’s a way to teach them a lot of things about food and health. At the same time, they might learn to help in the kitchen at home, or at least appreciate the work involved. Some of the recipes use beer, which is perfectly normal since beer is used in many every day recipes prepared at home.

It’s a great way to show the kids that beer = food.
One example of such recipe can you find here : "Oil Balls". It features a sweet party treat: ‘oil-balls’, prepared with Augustijn Abbey ale. Kids of all ages love it, and it’s so easy to make.
